Afnan Karim Kundi is a Senior Advocate at KUNDI & KUNDI and also one of its founding members. Having specialized during his LLMs in USA in commercial, corporate and tax laws, Afnan Kundi's areas of practice are in one way or the other connected to the said fields. He has performed and supervised multifarious legal work in both litigation and non-litigation areas of practice, acquiring a broad exposure and experience in multiple areas of law including criminal, general civil, commercial, banking, securities, labour and administrative laws. He has headed the civil trial advocacy, commercial consultancy and contractual and legislative drafting sections of KUNDI & KUNDI.
Afnan Kundi has drafted, negotiated and closed local and international commercial agreements particularly in the field of Information Technology including the single largest IT project in Pakistan. Contract close-outs involving settlement of claims/accounts between the contracting parties form an area of specialty for Afnan Kundi. He has been a member of the Project Management Institute (PMI) of USA and a Director of its local chapter and has both theoretical and practical knowledge and experience of managing projects.
He has also conducted mediation as well as arbitration on behalf of clients in contractual and commercial disputes. His legislative drafting experience includes the complete drafting of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Ordinance, 2000 (VIII of 2000) and rules for registration and issuance of various cards like National Identity Card and Pakistan Origin Card. He has also been associated with drafting the Electronic Transactions Ordinance, 2002 and various other statutes. He is also expected to be soon licensed to conduct litigation before the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
