Extended Biography

Mian Shafaqat Jan has an immaculate academic record. He topped Khushal Khan Khattak College in F.A. and was then granted admission into the prestigious Islamia College of Peshawar for his B.A. degree and went on to top his class here as well. He also earned the Shield of Merit by Old Islamians Association. Following this Mian Shafaqat Jan was enrolled in University of Peshawar and was awarded Merit Scholarships by the University consecutively for the years 1990, 1991, 1992 and 1993. During his LL.B from Peshawar University, Mian Shafaqat Jan went on to top his entire class once again, this time in the F.E.L. (First Examination in Law) (LL.B. Previous) with a record score.

Prior to joining KUNDI & KUNDI, Mian Shafaqat Jan was an Associate at the law offices of Mian Mohibullah Kakakhel, Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan where he was concerned with both litigation and non-litigation work. This helped him gain a broad exposure to both criminal and civil law.

Mian Shafaqat Jan completed his apprenticeship in the law offices of Mr. Abdul Latif Yousafzai, Advocate, Supreme Court of Pakistan.

As an Associate at the law offices of Mian Mohibullah Kakakhel, Advocate, Supreme Court, Mian Shafaqat Jan also contributed to the publication of:

• Words & Phrases by Mian Muhibullah Kakakhel, Kashmir Law Times, Lahore - a three-volume dictionary / referencer of legal words and phrases.
• Excellent on Constitution by Mian Muhibullah Kakakhel, Kashmir Law Times, Lahore - a five-volume commentary on the Constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan, 1973.
